About Us, Creators of Bespoke Kitchen Doors

Multiwood hasn’t always been the nationwide, business to business company that we are today. Now we specialise in helping independent retailers make their customers’ dreams become their reality through our range of carefully crafted bespoke kitchen doors and accessories.

When Doug Allan formed the company 30 years ago, the kitchen cabinet doors available at the time were solid wood. The issue with cabinet doors crafted from solid wood is that over time, the wood will move, which then causes splits in the doors. Doug recognised this and he introduced a new style of door to the market, timber doors with a veneered centre panel. The addition of this veneered centre panel not only reduced the cost of manufacturing and production but also made the product more stable and durable.

This keen-eyed attention to detail and adaptability is one of the cornerstones of what we do here at Multiwood, which has allowed us to expand and grow over the years into the business to business, nationwide company that we are today.

30 years on, and as one of the leading independent retailers in our industry within the UK, we now have an array of different bespoke kitchen doors, contemporary kitchens, and a constantly growing network of dedicated First Impressions retailers.

While our drive to bring the latest trends to the market has earned us a reputation as a leading supplier of kitchen cabinet doors. As a family-run company, family values – loyalty, honesty and immense consideration for our staff, suppliers and retailers – continue to define our approach to business.

And while we have expanded massively, with over 30 members of staff, a 65,000 square foot headquarters and an extensive product range, we have never lost sight of the original goal: consistent quality in an ever-evolving market.
